In 2018, SIFF debuted a new Festival venue: The SIFF VR Zone at Pacific Place. Produced by Seattle's WonderTek Labs, the program showcased a curated selection of immersive and interactive storytelling from Seattle and around the world. The program included a 360 storytelling section with innovative pieces from Senegal, Kenya, South Korea, China, and Australia; immersive 360 music videos from Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) and The Posies, and compelling new works by Seattle-based VR developers and artists.
To alter the festival branding to fit the new VR Zone I photoshopped VR headsets to our crowd images to create a fun display featuring all of our festival characters and 3D typography. As an intern I was tasked to produce the visual language for the storefront, which was one of the main attractions of the festival.
I also created the visual language for our "Festival Spotlight” ads, which we released each week that highlighted festival news and announcements. This is the VR Zone ad that we rolled out before the grand opening.
